The Ferrari Club of America Ohio Chapter held its annual state meeting at Brookside Country Club on Saturday, August 16. The weather was sunny and warm for the event, which drew Ferrari owners from across Ohio and Kentucky. Guests were treated to a Ferrari show on the grounds along with an excellent lunch served on the club terrace. Club updates were given and a raffle of Ferrari-related items was held. Thanks to Ed H. for the image and for my invitation!
The 3rd Annual Rally for The Ranch was a great success! The car show featured over 80 examples of rare exotic, race, and vintage cars, ranging from classic American cars to modern exotics. Every parking space was filled and the car show even needed overflow parking for the extra cars which were added in the final days of registration. The banquet at the Shrine Center featured a conversation between Bobby Rahal and four-time Indy 500 champion Rick Mears, along with a live painting, silent auction, and an after party. The after party featured a small collection of extra special cars, including two real Cobras, two rare Porsches, a 1932 Cadillac, a 1941 Cadillac (which was also the backdrop for the photo booth!), and a Porsche GT3 RS 4.0 from Byers Imports. Approximately $300,000 was raised for The Buckeye Ranch, including $20,000 for the one-of-a-kind original painting of Rick Mears by Bill Patterson. As always, the Rally experienced was finished with a trip to Mid-Ohio for the Honda Indy 200! The Rally for The Ranch had a huge hospitality tent with complimentary food and drinks and a great view of pit row and the straight before the Honda bridge/corner. |
